Zhuhai is a prefecture-level city and sub-central city in Guangdong Province. Most of Zhuhai City was under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan County from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Republic of China. Zhuhai was established as a city in 1979 and a special economic zone in 1980, which is one of the earliest special economic zones in China. China is the only city in mainland China that is connected with China, Hongkong, China and Macau by land at the same time. As an important port city, it has five land ports, namely Gongbei, Hengqin, Qingmao, Zhuhai Highway of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Zhuhai-Macao Cross-border Industrial Zone, and five water ports, namely Jiuzhou Port, Wanchai Port, Zhuhai Port, Doumen Port and Wanshan Port, with a total of 10 national first-class ports. It is the second largest port city in China after Shenzhen. Zhuhai area has been an important node of maritime trade since ancient times, and ancestors participated in the development of maritime channels. Zhuhai has a long history of humanities, and has been one of the important cultural centers in Lingnan since ancient times, with Xiangshan culture, Guangfu culture, Tujia culture, Hakka culture and so on. Zhuhai is a garden-style coastal tourist city. By the end of 2020, there are 6 AAAA scenic spots and 3 AAA scenic spots. Zhuhai is the only city in China that has been selected as one of the "Top 40 National Tourist Attractions" with its overall urban landscape.
